Hear From Our Patients

“I came to ITR after several negative experiences seeking care for my pelvic floor issues. My PT was Lauren Starace and simply put, she changed my life. Pelvic floor dysfunction can be extremely isolating, and ITR was the first healthcare setting where I felt totally seen, heard, and like I could ask any question and bring up any concern and be treated with care and compassion. You will never be rushed out the door or feel like you are just a number. Lauren is kind, easy to talk to, and an expert at what she does.”

Jennifer

“They were one of the few places that seem to understand that men will need pelvic floor therapy too (especially, like me, after something like prostate removal). Great PT helped me work and train the proper muscles and my recovery was much faster. Would recommend this practice to anyone needing assistance.”

John Bornmann

“I am having such a positive physical therapy experience at ITR. The office and therapist (Tina) make me feel comfortable from start to finish each visit, albeit pelvic floor therapy being an uncomfortable issue. Amy who manages the bookings is wonderful as well, giving me a good impression of the therapy before I had even began. Grateful for the progress I’m making and optimistic for the future.”

Frequently Asked Questions

How does pelvic floor physical therapy help men?

Pelvic floor physical therapy addresses the muscles, nerves, and connective tissues in the pelvic region. For men, this can mean relief from chronic pelvic pain, improved bladder and bowel control after surgery, better sexual function, and reduced discomfort from conditions like chronic prostatitis or pelvic pain syndrome. Through manual therapy, targeted exercises, and lifestyle guidance, we help restore normal pelvic floor function.

Do you accept insurance?

ITR Physical Therapy is an out-of-network provider for all insurance companies, which allows us to focus exclusively on quality treatment and spend more individual time with you during each session. If you have PPO insurance, your insurance company will typically reimburse 60-80% of the cost. We provide detailed billing statements (superbills) with the necessary ICD-10 and CPT codes to make submitting for reimbursement as easy as possible.

What should I expect during my first visit?

Your first visit will include a comprehensive evaluation where your physical therapist will take the time to listen to your concerns, review your medical history, and assess your pelvic floor function, posture, and movement patterns. Each session lasts approximately one hour, and you’ll receive personalized attention in a private, respectful environment. Together, you’ll create a treatment plan tailored to your goals.

Is pelvic floor therapy uncomfortable or invasive?

We understand that pelvic health issues can feel private and sensitive. Our team approaches every patient with compassion and respect, and we’ll never do anything without your consent. Treatment techniques vary based on your needs and may include external manual therapy, postural training, and therapeutic exercises. Internal work is only done when appropriate and with your full understanding and permission.
